Great video M.A….i’ve often wondered what i best way to wear a hat. there are some gentlemen who really look good in hats and they know how to wear them…i think you just gave away some of their secrets. Thanks
Great video Michael. May I ask where you got your hat from? It looks very similar to a beautiful trilby I bought from Bates last year (although mine is grey). You seem to have much less of a pinch in yours though. Is that deliberate?
Anyway, next time I wear mine, I shall remember to wear it with two tilts.
The hat is a Christys’ of London. I am not sure where they are sold these days. Bates in London has models that are similar.
Part of the great fun of hats is modeling the felt, creating new looks as we wish. The hat in question had just been brushed, steamed and any traces of pinch removed. My mood varies but I try to keep pinching to a minimum.
Wear your two tilts proudly and most importantly, have fun doing so.
Hihi, very amusing. Made me think of high ranking officers in the armed forces that would wear their hat with a slight tilt. There is a nice passage in Les Bienveillantes by Jonathan Littell about that.
Dear Mr. Alden,
First time to your site. Love your videos. They are informative, smart and elegant. I just wish I could afford many of your clothing suggestions. Oh well, maybe some day. Keep up the good work. I look forward to future videos.

Nice video, mr. Alden. Did you by any chance catch a cold? I haven’t heard you for four videos! Hope to see a new video soon, keep up the good work.

I love your silent HD series. I hope to see more of this in the long run.

Bravo!
A charming and well done short! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Doesn’t one begin in silent pictures and work into the talkies?
Great short and charming music. We wear our hats in a similar fashion. A good reminder for a cold and overcast day here in Virginia.

Elegance, in both content and production.
Thank you.
