I think this was just a wonderful post. As a businessman, I have welcomed the return of the more formal workplace attire. I understand the younger generations desire to be more jeans and flip flops but as you say it is such a reflection on who we are. I am just as comfortable in a suit as what they must think they are in their attire.
One additional point related to how one carries himself, is in their language and manners. I like to spend a portion of my time revisiting the value of things like handwritten notes and manners that some may say men have become a little too lazy about. *Note: I still open the car door for my mother. We can all have manners without being seen as snobs.
The last but I believe important point I will make is that in the online world I don’t think it can overstated how important the images of us out there are just as important as when we meet people in person. I want to make sure that if a potential new client of mine researches me or my company online that they fine professional images of me. I think we should be very aware of this.
